Give Unconditional Love
First, you need to remember that your children are not going to remain young foreover. Time goes fast and they will grow up soon. Thus, you should make the most of your child's growing years.
You spend maximum amount of time with you child when they are about 0-5 years old. Once they grow teenagers and adult, the time to be together between you and your child will be less because they get so busy with their own lives. You should try to have a lot of happy memories of each age of you child from toddler to teenager.
Put Yourself in Their Shoes
If you feel your child is being difficult, put yourself in their shoes for a moment. You need to try to understand what your child think from their point of view. Remember the time when you were ten years old like your child and your gang planned to stay together in someone's house.
Develop Good Habits From a Young Age
Teach your child healthy food, take care of his/her toys, brush her/his teeth and wash her/his feet before going to bed are some good habits that need to be developed since a young age. It will be easier for kids to shape the habits than when they grow older.
Have Family-Time
Many fathers leaves home very early in the morning when the child is sleeping and come home late at night when the child already in bed. Basically, you should make a point to do something together as a family. Set aside ten minutes every evening when the entire family together clean the house. Or you can cook together and split the work responsibility. This will help all of you to bond together as a family and will also help siblings closer.
Try to Make Your Children Self-Reliant
Try to make and encourage your children independent and self-reliant. Do not do everything for your child because this will make them more dependent on you. Children should be encouraged to do simple tasks which can be done by them. When children do things by themselves, they become self-reliant which in turn increases self-esteem.
Making your child do a little cleaning of the house, tidy up his/her own room, washing dishes, etch will hel them to learn basic life skills which everybody needs to know.
